Chapter # - 803

On 23 Apr. Chapter 803, 1200 Davis Street , Elmira, NY was the recipient of the 2016 Historic Preservation Award.Presentation was done at Cowles Hall, Elmira College campus. The Chapter was nominated by Sidney Graubard, an Associate Life Member of Chapter 803, and the award was given for adaptive use of an existing building to create a museum.Chapter President Larry Sherman and Museum Director Dennis Wolfe attend and received the award, which now hangs in a place of prominence at the Museum. The Chapter also received Senate Proclamation from Senator Thomas O'Mara and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Tom Reed.Kudos to the Chapter for it's hard work and service to the community in providing this educational facility.


Chapter # - 333

Chapter333 located in Pomona N.Y. recently held another fundraiser to purchase and donate a special HAND CYCLE for Iraq/Afghanistan veterans with spinal cord injuries and or leg amputations. Since the onset of this program which began in 2013, chapter 333 along with members of the order of the purple heart, have donated cycles to both Montrose and Castle Point V.A. hospitals. In addition, cycles have been donated to four other deserving veterans who requested our assistance. Chapter333 committee members set fourth a vetting process inclusive of a DD-214, a short biography along with a paragraph explaining what the veteran hopes to accomplish. If any veteran has knowledge of a candidate who may wish to own a cycle, please contact the president of chapter333. Respectfully, Roy Tschudy

Chapter # - 803

CHAPTER 803 participated in Wreaths Across America 2015. We purchased 100 wreaths for distribution at Woodlawn Cemetery on Dec 12. We will resume our efforts in 2016 as a sponsor group to continue the mission to put a wreath on every Veteran grave at our National Cemetery. We wlii reregister early and carry the fund raising to the surrounding service organizations.


Chapter # - 865 Jamestown

Support the Troops CHRISTMAS TREE sales started today (25/11/15) at the Jamestown Harley Davidson location. This is a combined effort of VVA 865, AVVA 865 & VMW 20. We have 135 trees this year and all profits go to our Support the Troops packages. If you are in Western New York, come and take a look, a lot of nice trees.

SUPPORT THE TROOPS CARE PACKAGES: Anyone who knows an address for a service member serving in Gulf War Zone, please let me know. The average package that we send, cost around $110.00, including the shipping cost. We currently have around 50 names that we hope to get sent so they are received by Christmas. Chapter # - 865 Jamestown

Nov 10th USMC Birthday Cake cutting. SEMPHER FI. Nov 11th the Honor Guard will be in Falconer then Jamestown, and then taking a road trip to Youngsville & Sugar Grove PA. Nov 14th - - Our Annual Veterans Day bash. Starting with a pig roast ($5.00 per person), music and who knows what else during the day. The day will climax with a NIGHT OF STAND-UP COMEDY starting at 2000 hrs. or 8PM ($12.00 donation) staring Darryl Rhoades, guest Charlie Cox and local comedian Beefy. ALL PROCEEDES GO TO OUR SUPPORT THE TROOPS endeavor. Beverages are not included separate.
